- Board of Assessment Review
The Board of Assessment Review is a panel composed of seven citizens appointed by the City Council. Its function is to decide taxpayer appeals of the Assessor's valuation of real and personal property. The decisions of the Board of Assessment Review are subject to further appeal as provided by Maine Property Tax Law. See Section 7-15 of the Westbrook Code of Ordinances for more information.
This is a seven-member board (five Ward-specific positions, two At-Large), with members approved by City Council.
