On January 14, 2019 the City was notified by local business owner, Rob Mitchell of a large disk rotating in the Presumpcot River which was viewable from the River Walk. Tina Radel, Marketing and Communications Manager for the City of Westbrook captured this video and the images with a drone and they have since gone viral.
The ice disk is bringing in visitors from out of state and catching the attention of media outlets from all over the world.
