The Registration Appeals Board hears the appeal of any person aggrieved by the decision of the Registrar of Voters to cancel or reject that person's voter registration application. This Board is established pursuant to State law. See 21-A M.R.S.A. Section 103 for more information.
This three-member board is composed of one member from each of the major political parties (Democrat and Republican), all nominated by the Westbrook Democratic & Republican Party Committees, with the third member nominated by the City Clerk and approved by City Council. In addition, the Democratic & Republican Party Committees each nominate an alternate board member.
