- Fiber Arts Fun!
Fiber art is a style of fine art which uses textiles such as fabric, yarn, and natural and synthetic fibers. It focuses on the materials and on the manual labor involved as part of its significance. In Westbrook, the fiber arts played an important role in our industrial history - think the Haskell Silk Mill or the SD Warren Paper Mill.
The Westbrook Community Center has a wonderful room dedicated to the fiber arts. We spin, weave, quilt, sew, knit, crochet, dye, make paper - you name it! We aim to set aside times for formal classes, times for working solo without guilt, and times for quiet socializing. Open to adults and children who are accompanied by an adult. Stay tuned for details on new programs, or feel free to drop in at any time during open hours.
