Electronic & Household Hazardous Waste
There are certain types of wastes that you may encounter in and around your home that cannot be included in our Curbside Trash and Recycling Program. The most common of these are household hazardous waste and electronic waste. Below is information to help identify and properly dispose of these items.
Household Hazardous Waste
This refers to any product labeled: toxic, poison, combustible, corrosive, flammable or irritant. A typical home can contain an array of household hazardous products for cleaning, painting, beautifying, lubricating and disinfecting the house, yard, workshop and garage. The chemical-based household products from a single home may seem insignificant; but when our community uses similar products - handling, storing and disposing of them improperly - the combined effect becomes a major problem. We included rechargeable and button batteries in this category.
